Fred is a combat veteran with multiple tours in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. He has commanded at the Platoon, Company and Battalion levels. Upon his retirement in 2011, he served as Operations Director for a leading edge software company and was the President and CEO of an advanced high speed machining technology company. He completed his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and completed Masters Programs from the Naval War College and the National Joint Intelligence College.

Pete utilized his skills and experience developed over 20 years in the commercial software, pharmaceutical and consulting industries to lead Strategy, Marketing and IT divisions. Pete joined the Keystone team in 2012 and was challenged to develop and execute a strategic plan to address the changing student housing market. Pete’s focus is the strategy and corporate governance of aligning people, processes and technology to the Keystone’s Mission. He holds a MS in the Management of IT from the University of Virginia

Jason Krout is a State College native, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University in 2002. In 2005, Jason joined the Keystone team as a Leasing Agent and has since worked in all facets of property management, including operations, capital improvement Planning, and budgeting at both a property and corporate level. Jason holds a Pennsylvania Real Estate Broker License.
VP of Management
Shannon Burns joined the Keystone team in 1998. A native of the State College area, Shannon holds a Pennsylvania Real Estate Associate Broker License. Throughout her career with Keystone, she has performed nearly every role in property management, including strategic planning, annual budgeting, property acquisition, daily leasing operations, and management software implementation. Over the years, Shannon has led teams in over 10 Pennsylvania markets, and now oversees Leasing Operations, Building Services, and Commercial Property Management.
Ben came to Keystone from his position as co-founder and CEO of Tricore Group, a land development and construction management company in central PA. Prior to entering the real estate industry, Ben was a Captain in the Army serving as the Command Judge Advocate and Trial Counsel for the 7th Transportation Group Fort Eustis, VA (Army JAG Corps), and Clerk to the Honorable Frederick J. Scullin, Jr. of the United States District Courts. Ben Heim received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University and earned his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University School of Law.
Al has 25 years of construction management and real estate development experience. Al leads the asset management division of Keystone focusing on acquisitions, finance and scalable process development. Under Al’s guidance, the division has acquired $140 million of assets. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University (1988) and a Masters in Business Administration from University of Pittsburgh (1992).
