Position Summary: This position is initially responsible for rationalizing and implementing improvements to budgeting, reporting and tax preparation for the 40+ real estate entities in the residential and commercial management division. This change management initiative within accounting is essential to solidify Keystone’s ability to manage and grow 3rd party contracts and integrate foreseeable new business lines (nursing home care, hotel management). The position will require a high level of knowledge, organization, and effective communication. Essential functions include annual budgeting; administering accounting policies/controls; overseeing monthly/year end closing processes; annual CAP Ex reconciliations; meeting all financial and tax reporting requirements/financial analysis; monthly reporting and assisting property managers with variance analysis. Position will also assist asset manager with acquisition and divestiture pro forma / analysis and property tax research. Keystone Real Estate is a fast-paced company positioned for sustained growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Management/General

  • Oversees timely and accurate monthly and year-end closing processes including the review and approval of financial statements and year-end tax returns.

  • Oversees the annual property budget process.

  • Oversees the development and administration of all accounting systems, policies, and internal controls.

Financial

  • Responsible for financial analysis and publishing of monthly operating reports.

  • Provides findings and specific recommendations to the VP of Property Management, VP of Operations and CFO.

  • Reviews and approves accuracy of monthly cash position for all Property Management entities.

  • Oversees monthly partner distribution process.

  • Participates in special projects, including cash flow projects, asset sale analysis, etc.

  • Compiles special analytical reports for the CEO, CFO, Director of Asset management, VP of Operations and VP of Properties as required.

  • Assists asset manager with property acquisitions and debt refinancing.

  • Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of all financial reports to management, investors, and lenders.

  • Reviews and approves 3rd party CPA interim/year end work papers, financial statements, tax returns.

  • Prepares fixed asset capitalization and disposition work papers for each rental property.

Strategic Planning

  • Develops, recommends, and assists in implementing changes to existing process controls and reporting practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

  • Certified Public Accountant required

  • Minimum of 5years experience in accounting related to commercial/residential property management or real estate

  • Highly proficient in accounting systems, excel and word

  • Keystone runs both Quickbooks and Entrata property management software. Prior experience highly preferential

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
